Our Lady of Fatima

Students at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, in Modesto, California are given regular and robust opportunities to engage as active participants with their faith. Teachers and parents recognize that this active witness of faith allows for the true mission of a Catholic school to be met - developing the hearts and minds of young people to become: centered in the person of Jesus Christ, contributing to the evangelizing mission of the church, distinguished by excellence, committed to education of the whole child, steeped in a Catholic worldview, sustained by Gospel witness, and shaped by communion and community. Recently, 25 students in grades 6-8 served as baseball buddy’s for children facing serious physical and mental challenges. The Miracle League provides a modified environment where the game of baseball is accessible to those needing modifications, but the environment is just one piece of the game - students worked through an entire day of games, walking alongside of their buddy to create joy and confidence. What a joy to hear the students of Our Lady of Fatima proclaim that they were the ones who got something from this wonderful day!

When back on campus, the philosophy of serving is not lost as students regularly lead religious celebrations. Recently the school celebrated the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday with cake and ice cream, song, and prayer. We are grateful to all who support Catholic education and the opportunity for all children to grow in their faith and knowledge.
