Consortium of Catholic Academies

The Consortium of Catholic Academies (CCA) is committed to delivering academic, administrative, and financial support to ensure that Consortium schools remain affordable and provide students with an excellent education. We strive to instill in students a sense of faith, a love of learning and, ultimately, produce value-centered graduates who will face the future with hope. The Archdiocese of Washington has long embraced a commitment to spread the Gospel through Catholic education in its parishes and schools. In 1995, the Archdiocese identified a need for additional support at several of its Catholic schools in the District of Columbia. In response, the Archdiocese established a consortium of schools with a central office to oversee financial and administrative needs.

The Consortium helps sustain the long tradition of affordable yet excellent Catholic schools that reach out to those in underserved communities and create a welcoming environment where students can embrace their faith and develop a love of learning. Today, the Consortium comprises four (4) inner-city schools located throughout the Archdiocese, each with its own unique identity. As a CCA school, St. Thomas More Catholic Academy (STM) is located in the Ward 8 Highland community of the District. Built more than 52 years ago. STM Academy proudly continues to provide quality education to the children of that otherwise disadvantaged neighborhood.

Terral Lewis is currently a second-grade scholar at STM who has illustrated an immense amount of intelligence and academic rigor during the course of an unusual school year. Terral is an avid learner who enjoys science and reading. Currently, he has received high marks in all of his course work and is one of this year’s gifted scholars.
