Learning from home

Immaculate Conception Parish School

When the Commonwealth of PA shut down schools mid March, the teachers and administration at Immaculate Conception Parish School worked very hard to keep our students engaged and learning. They were learning new platforms for students to learn from home virtually or if the students were unable to learn virtually, they were given their books and copied packets to do work the old fashioned way, but at home. Parents, teachers and students went above and beyond in creativity and ingenuity. They continued to learn new things in among enrichment materials. The students watched videos of teachers teaching new math lessons, parents sent videos of their child's progress in reading, many science lessons were done at the kitchen table and some families got new animals to help with the stress of quarantine. They even learned new Italian words, had a virtual gym class and music theory. It was wonderful to see parents, teachers, administration and staff work so closely together for the good and well being of our students.
