My God...My All - 2019 Lenten Day of Reflection

April 04, 2019
Choral Reading:The Canticle of St. Francis

Black Catholic Ministry Commission

Providing attendees with focused meditation as they learned about the life of St. Francis of Assisi was a great tool for evangelization as people learned about the value of invitation. People were reminded that in order to call others to Christ, they must first start with themselves. The day also invited attendees to (1) reflect on the “lepers” in our lives and how as Black Catholics we are at times made to feel as lepers; (2) What it means to be our true and authentic self and (3) our commitment to service. Fascinating and compelling stories of St. Francis of Assisi’s life were shared and provided encouragement and inspiration for the participants.

The event was publicized in the Milwaukee Catholic Herald twice. One article included an interview with the two facilitators, Sr. Lucy Marindany and Sr. Irene Ogotu. It was also posted on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website.
