Office of Multicultural Ministries, Diocese of Arlington

From St. Luke Productions, “Tolton: From Slave to Priest” presents the story of Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first recognized African American priest in the United States to life in a one-man, mixed-media show. In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Washington, the Office of Multicultural Ministries, Diocese of Arlington offered this play for free to roughly 1700 people over the course of five presentations. Attendees came from all over Virginia, Washington, D.C, and Maryland. The response was phenomenal, leaving the audience inspired by the life of Fr. Tolton.
