VBCC Youth Leadership Ambassador Program
The Ambassador Praise Concert, launched in November 2018 as a celebration of Black Catholic History Month, continued its inspiring tradition of uniting communities through music, dance, and praise. Held this past weekend on Saturday November 2nd, the event gathered choirs from across Brooklyn and Queens, each bringing their unique voice to celebrate faith and heritage. This year’s lineup featured powerful performances from the Midwood Catholic Academy school choir, St. Thomas Aquinas' parish choir, St. Vincent Ferrer’s choir, St. Gregory the Great’s choir, and the dynamic group Troupe Eclat. Adding a heartfelt layer to the evening, some of our Ambassadors who are from Sacred Heart captivated the audience with a moving praise dance.
Beyond celebrating Black Catholic culture, the concert served as a fundraiser to support our Ambassadors' upcoming mission trip to Belize in summer 2025. To further this mission, attendees participated in a 50/50 raffle, with one lucky winner taking home $2,500.
The Ambassador Praise Concert once again demonstrated the strength of community, faith, and cultural pride, all while supporting young leaders in their journey to serve others here in our diocese as well as around the world.
