Congregation of the Great Spirit
This year’s Communion class, held once annually, consisted of 3 children ages 7-10. In the photos we see the children participating in the specific aspects of the ceremony that leads to the completion of their journey to Christ. This is important as it hopefully instills a lifelong devotion to the Catholic doctrine and entices the children to continue in the other sacraments. Two of the Church Elders are shown participating in the ceremony, and Father Ed is shown consecrating the bread & wine demonstrating the solemnity of the occasion and the Elders’ lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith that will hopefully transpire to this next generation of parishioners. The Black & Indian grant money helps to ensure we have adequate funds to pay the priests salary and provide the needed supplies to conduct the Communion class.
