How We are Surviving COVID -19

May 19, 2020

Holy Savior Catholic Church and Academy

Wow, who would have thought that we would experience such unprecedented times. When we received the word in March that school would close for the remainder of the school year, our mouths dropped open. I cried, "Lord have mercy." The first night I did not sleep at all, and I am sure that Fr. Billinger did not either. How were we going to teach our students? How were we going to feed our students and provide for their needs? How were we going to care for the parishioners, with church being closed? How were we going to pay our staff? However, God can not be out done in generosity! Due to the Black and Indian grant and other such donations and gifts, we were able to do all things through Christ who Strengthens us! We had mass online, taught online, fed students by handing out lunches and breakfast daily, handed out vitamins for adult and children, masks, and last but certainly not least, we were able to continue to employ and pay our staff!
