Grants

The Black and Indian Mission Office awards grants to Diocese, Schools and Religious Education Programs to support the evangelization of African American, Native American and Alaska Native communities. Grant funds are used to 'shine the light of Christ' in the communities by enlivening parish life and catechesis, helping educators reach students, empowering evangelizers and encouraging vocations.

Black and Indian Missions Office Diocesan Grant Application

The Black and Indian Mission Office Diocesan Grant application is open to all Dioceses with African American and Native American/Alaska Native communities.

The following are eligible for funding through the Diocesan Grants: ​​​​​​

  • African American and Native American evangelization outreach and ministry programs
  • Stipends and salaries for priests, religious and lay persons running evangelization and other ministry programs for African Americans and Native Americans
  • Tuition assistance for African American and Native American students attending Catholic Elementary Schools and Catholic High Schools
  • Religious Education Programs in Parishes and Catholic Schools
  • Faith formation programs for African American and Native American children and adults
  • Rural parish subsidies

 

Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions School And Religious Education Program Grant Application (BCIM) 

The Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions School and Religious Education Program Grant Application is open to all Schools and Religious Education Programs that support Native American and Alaska Native Catholic communities.

The following are eligible for funding through the BCIM Grants: 

  • Grants for schools are provided to assist with teacher salaries.

  • Grants for religious education programs are provided to assist with catechist stipends, the purchase of catechetical materials and Bibles, etc 

 

Catholic Negro American Mission Board School And Religious Education Program Grant Application (CNAMB)

The Catholic Negro American Mission Board School and Religious Education Program Grant Application is open to all Schools and Religious Education Programs that support Catholic African American communities.

 The following are eligible for funding through the CNAMB Grants: 

  • Grants for schools are provided to assist with teacher salaries.

  • Grants for religious education programs are provided to assist with catechist stipends, the purchase of catechetical materials and Bibles, etc 

 

College Scholarship Funds

Thanks to a very generous benefactor, the Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions has established sizable scholarship endowment funds at four universities around the country to help Native American students pursue an education.
