Black Catholic Mission | 

In September, the young adults attended a” Faith in Action” retreat with Rev. Godwin Imoru. In October, thirty-seven parishioners participated in Adoration and the youth sponsored Rosary Rally.

Recently, the entire school community got together for the first time since COVID to share a Thanksgiving meal together in the school cafeteria.

The Office of Black Catholic Ministry offered praise to God through the tradition of Jazz music. The Native American Catholic Outreach held a Harvest Thanksgiving Ceremony.

Indian Mission | 

Every month at our Native American Heritage Mass, more than 50 people gather around the table of the Lord calling upon “Grandfather,” God who Created us, to hear their thanks.

Funds were used for subsidies to Saint Helen Catholic Church, (in Roosevelt), which services the Ute Indian Reservation in Ft. Duchesne and the Native Americans from their parish.

On the feast day of St. Martin de Porres, the Archdiocese of Denver commemorated the beginning of Black Catholic History Month as well as Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month.

With the purpose of reassuring the ability to be both Catholic and Native American, the Many Nations Saint Kateri Circle shared their culture with guests who attended.

On August 15th this year we only had one Mass here at the Sacred Heart Mission. The Coeur d’Alene Tribe has been celebrating the Feast of Assumption at Cataldo every year with the Bishop.

Rev. R. Tony Ricard visited the Diocese of Toledo to help celebrate black Catholic history month. Rev. R. Tony Ricard is a Priest for the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Pastor of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish.
