Archbishop Carroll Senior High School

Archbishop Carroll High School is an Archdiocese of Washington Catholic high school located in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC. Having a long history of being a pillar in the community, the school offers a robust, faith-based education and strives to instill excellence in the young people that attend there. Children of all backgrounds are welcomed to the school, which provides a rigorous and supportive learning environment.

Amid this unusual school year, affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, the Archbishop Carroll students have shown a love for their school and their robust interest in learning. The Class of 2020 Salutatorian, Angel Bilal, is one of those students. Described as independent, energetic, and reliable, Angel has proven herself to be an exceptional student, strong athlete, and accomplished musician.

Angel is a member of the National Honor Society and an International Baccalaureate Programme scholar. Conscientious and motivated, she is always willing to work hard to achieve her goals. Additionally, outside of her academics, Angel is a leader on the soccer team and a volunteer for the school’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. More importantly, she is one of the few African American women to be an accomplished alto saxophone player.

Graduating with a cumulative 4.12 GPA, Angel will attend Elon University, where she will pursue a degree in Chemistry while also studying Astronomy. She has plans for a career at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
