STEAM and Edible Cars

January 23, 2020

Holy Name of Jesus School

Holy Name of Jesus School middle school students tested scientific (and tasty) ideas by creating "cars" made completely of edible materials. The cars had to meet criteria established by their science teacher. Cars were judged by a team of seniors from Loyola High School before being demonstrated at a school-wide assembly. Our elementary students cheered as they witnessed cars created from rice krispy treats, cookies, cucumbers, carrots and marshmallows. The experiments were a fun way to experience STEAM in real life. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat surrounded by laughter, cheers and big smile.
