Virtuous Habits

February 10, 2020

St. Mary Catholic School

St. Mary’s Catholic School’s current enrollment is 122 with 20 percent being of Black and/or Native American heritage. The Black and Indian Mission continues to assist us with bringing the mission of a quality Christ-centered education to children who may not have such an opportunity. Our Virtue program has us consistently practicing virtuous habits while learning about a specific virtue each month, students lead our weekly school Mass from Altar serving to singing, and everything in between. The Knights of Columbus invited our students to participate in the Keep Christ in Christmas art contest, which our students enthusiastically participate. Our Robotics team presented to our School Council and placed at the regional competition where they received the Inspire Award: the winner is an inspiration to other teams, acting with Gracious Professionalism® both on and off the playing field. Our 3rd grade class learns about electrical circuits after our community had extensive power outages over the Christmas and New Year holidays. We are very grateful to have St. Mary’s Catholic School in our community and grateful to the Black and Indian Grant for the financial support to assist with our evangelization efforts.
