St. Edward Catholic Church New Iberia. St Edward Catholic Church celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on February 6, 2022 at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. 24 young people were confirmed by Father William Blanda and Canon Gerard Jordan. The St. Katherine Drexel Award was presented to two young people during the Confirmation Mass.

Black History Month Celebrations. St. Anthony Catholic Church held a Black History Program beginning with Mass. The program consisted of spoken word, poetry, various styles of dance and song. In addition a workshop on the History of Black Catholics was held on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

National Day of Prayer for African American Families. The National Prayer for African American Families was distributed to Churches in our diocese. The Parishioners of St. Anthony Catholic Church gathered on the first Sunday of February (February 6, 2022) to observe the National Day of Prayer for African American families. Fr. Richard Andrus, Pastor delivered a message about families praying together to overcome struggles and praying to stay together.

Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Mass and Award Celebration was held on January 14, 2022 with Bishop J. Deshotel as the Celebrant.
