The Washington School for Girls
And we're back! On August 8th and 9th, students returned to school for the 2023-24 school year! As is tradition at the Washington School for Girls (WSG), we rolled out the red carpet for students and had teachers, staff, and volunteers on hand to cheer for our girls as they walked through the front door. Events like this start the school year with joy and celebration. We believe an engaging, enthusiastic, and supportive environment is essential for student learning.
After an energetic welcome, students, parents, teachers, and staff gathered for our first Morning Prayer of the year. We begin each day at WSG with Morning Prayer and Devotion; a time set aside for the reading of scripture, reflection, offering of intentions, and song. This time felt especially important at the start of the school year, as our community joined together and centered ourselves in faith before embarking on the new year.
As always, we are focused this school year on providing the best possible academic, enrichment, and leadership programs for our students as well as cultivating a joyful environment for students and the adults who support them. We are hopeful that this year will be our best yet!
