World Youth Day Laredo
Hundreds of youth met for World Youth Day Laredo in solidarity with World Youth Day in Panama on January 26, 2019. During Mass, Eucharistic adoration and the keynote talk, the young people meditated on the theme, “I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”
Parenting Against the Tide Workshop
The Office of Religious Education for Children offered an intensive workshop for parents tackling topics like parenting types, obedience, virtue training, forming good characters, the truth about pornography, the seven desires of every heart, Catholic moral philosophy and all the aspects of life that call for difficult decision-making. The workshop was led by Linda Kracht, founder of Fortifying Families of Faith.
Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week took place from January 27 to February 2. Events were hosted throughout the week for each diocesan school.
Middle School Youth Rally
The Middle School Youth Rally, “We Are Called,” took place at St. Augustine High School Wellness Center on March 2, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Keynote speakers included Sister Sydney Moss, FMA and Alex Cavazos, teacher at Mary Help of Christians School.
