Gesu Catholic School
The Gesu Robotics team has been working hard this year and their work has paid off! Gesu’s robotics team is called G-Force, referring to the scientific term for Gravitational force equivalent. Gesu is Italian for Jesus and Jesus is the “force” that guides us. G-Force is not just scientific, but spiritual to us!
In the beginning of December, the team competed in the regional competition where they won the THINK award for “removing engineering obstacles through creative thinking”. The team finished as part of the second-place alliance and they were invited to compete in the state competition.
This past weekend, G-Force placed 13th in Michigan state competition with a team of Gesu 6th graders. All of the students had never competed before and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Gesu students have learned to problem solve and work together in this extra-curricular activity. They also have had a lot of fun working with other students and uniting together in competition.
