Navigating Life With God's Perfect Vision

Operation Good News

Spring 2026 Retreat

Operation Good News (OGN) sponsored a 3-day weekend retreat beginning on May 29, 2026. Utilizing the retreat’s theme, Navigating Life With God’s Perfect Vision, retreat attendees explored how to journey through life with God as their guide.

The morning of the second day was designed to renew our spirit and remind us that God sees us in our time of need. We opened with song, prayer and reading God’s Word. We reflected on God’s word which was followed by our first witness who talked about renewal. The witness shared that after much contemplation and discussion with God, she knew from a young age which path she should take. However, during an assignment, her interaction with others caused her to question whether she should focus her attention in a new direction. As always, she took her “conflicted spirit” to the Lord who reminded her that her current path was her mission and nothing and no one was to deter her from it. This interaction with God renewed her spirit and allowed her to continue on the path that He was guiding her through.

The morning activity centered around the song The God Who Sees. The song outlines the experiences of Hagar, Ruth, David and all of us. In each instance, the individual was felt alone and frightened, but God showed that He heard their cry and acted culminating in our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We spent time contemplating the message of this song individually. After which we used several questions to guide the discussion of the song’s meaning as a group.

The whole weekend was a blessing to the 25 who gathered, eleven of whom were having a weekend retreat experience for the first time.

The entire weekend was such a blessing in so many ways. It held opportunities for prayer, scripture, faith sharing, healing, reconciliation, and liturgy. Everyone left with a song in the heart, a light in the dark, and Good News that our God is always longing to bring. Pictures are for the May 31 Reporting Period.
