St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church
The door of our new church opened after thirteen years on March 3, 2019 and was dedicated by Most Reverend Louis Kihneman, III, Bishop of the Catholic Dioceses of Biloxi. In the past three months, we have have connected fifteen parishioners to the Sacraments.
It started at the Baptismal Font where four members were baptized. One year ago, Mr. Willie Stephenson and Mr. Bernard Henderson entered the Rites of Christian Initiative (RICA) program one year ago. During the Easter Vigil on April 20, 2019 they were welcomed as members of the parish. Both received the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.
Frederick Cook, Jr., a 9th Grader in high school decided he wanted to become Catholic and begin the Faith Formation journey, ultimately leading him to receiving the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Eucharist. One week later, he was the commentator for the Mass and is an Altar Server. Also, four students received their First Holy Communion on April 28, 2019 under the direction of Mrs. Marcia Stallworth, a 30 year facilitator / teacher of the First Holy Communion Class. On May 12, 2016 six year old Eiden Glaude was baptized.
Eight youth from the parish received the Sacrament of Confirmation on March 13, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Most Reverend Roger Morin, DDS, Emeritus Bishop, Dioceses of Biloxi. Those confirmed were assigned additional responsibilities and leadership roles in the parish.
