Saint Ambrose Church
The strength of our religious education program is the enthusiasm, energy, and faith-filled dedication of the director. The money granted to us allows us to give her a small salary to compensate her for the hours she gives to planning, preparation and conducting of the classes and program. The brief outline of class sessions and themes gives a nice summary of how the curriculum follows the lectionary and the liturgical seasons:
September 8, 2024 – Review focusing on Sign of the Cross and John 14:6 (I am the way the truth and the life). Children to identify Book, Chapter and Verse
September 15, 2024 – Ten Commandments
September 22, 2024 – 5 Finger Prayer, pray time with Jesus focusing on Lord’s Prayer, The Our Father, The Hail Mary. Reinforcing we are all different. We shouldn’t expect to share Jesus with others in the same way. The important thing is not how we do it but that we do it! (game is Lambs in basket/tiptoe, run, walk, skip, jump, hop, etc.)

October 27, 2024 – Saints (St. Augustine, St. Jerome, St. Patrick, St. Vincent De Paul, St. Ambrose, St. Gregory “The Great”); also discussed Saint Paul and saints waiting to be canonized, namely Mother Mary Lang
