St. Mary Cathedral School
The 2019 SMCS All Saints Day Celebration began with our all-student mass in the cathedral, led by our very own Father Marino. During the Homily, Father Marino reminded the students that prayer means “to ask”, and who better to intercede on our behalf than the Saints in heaven! Immediately following the mass, students and families were treated to an All-Star performance of Noah – Nothing is Impossible. The production was the vision of our Drama Director, Ms. Richardy Blanchard, and was brought to life by our middle school and upper elementary students and ties into our school theme of All-Stars… Nothing is Impossible. With the Cathedral altar as the backdrop and minimalist props and costumes, the message of Noah (although he is not a canonized saint), was allowed to be the focal point of our All Saints Day show. We are all called to be saints. Let us use Noah’s example as a guide for our daily lives in our pursuit for sainthood. Our student actors delivered an impeccable performance; the SMCS dancers were visions of grace and elegance, and our soloists together with our 4th and 5th grade “ark animal” choir blended harmoniously as they sang songs of praise and worship. Noah – Nothing is Impossible was a truly marvelous way to celebrate such an important holiday in the Catholic Church, a fact made obvious by the thunderous applause given by the audience at the end of the show. We look forward to future productions from our St. Mary’s Cathedral School cast and crew!
