St. Lawrence School
St. Lawrence School just recently completed their Student Council Elections for the 2022-2023 school year. Students originally submitted their names as candidates for the various executive offices and class representatives. The students then worked hard on writing their speeches and creating their own campaign videos. Finally, it was election day! The day started with each student live-streaming their speeches to the entire school. Each class was then able to watch their individual campaign videos. Seventh and eighth grade students acted as the poll workers in the 6th grade classroom, the official voting location for Saint Lawrence School. They assisted the students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade in selecting their candidates for each office. After they had finished voting, each student was given an “I Voted” sticker that they were able to bring home to proudly share their democratic experience. Finally, after all the votes had been tallied, Dr. Paguaga, school principal, announced the winners of the 2022-2023 Student Council Elections to the rest of the school.
