De La Salle Blackfeet School
De La Salle Blackfeet School- November 30th School Update:
Our school year is in full swing and we have had a number of notable activities and events.
After an incredibly successful season, the 8th grade girls’ basketball team was awarded third place in our conference. Our cross-country team had several distinguished individuals who were awarded their best racing times and several placed as top racers.
Our 7th and 8th grade classes participated in the renowned National Novel Writing Month (NanoWriMo), and are now editing their individual works ranging from 5,000 to 26,000 words.
In the month of November as we celebrated the All Souls who are sitting in repose with our Lord, we remembered those members of our community who have passed on to everlasting life. We also commemorated in the month of November the Sacraments of Baptism for three students and First Communion for eleven students.
Before the Thanksgiving Holiday break, our school invited the larger community to our Thanksgiving Feed where the room was packed with community members, parents, and family members. As the feed concluded, our school President, Brother Dale Mooney, FSC, drew our $1000 November drawing for our annual raffle campaign which was awarded to one of Browning’s own community members. We are happy to announce that with still four more drawings throughout the school year, we have raised $32,000 of our $35,000 goal. We are certainly blessed with the opportunity to minister to the students and community.
