Marian High School: Marian is proud of all 145 members of the Class of 2020, who overcame significant obstacles in achieving their goals. Each member of Marian’s Class of 2020 graduated on time to help Marian achieve a 100% graduation rate. This included the four members of the senior class who were recipients of the additional financial aid provided by the Black and Indian Mission Grant of the Diocese of Fort Wayne South Bend. On behalf of all Marian students who benefit from this continued generosity, thank you!
Bishop Luers High School: At Luers, diversity in backgrounds, talents, and interests are fostered in an atmosphere of mutual respect, support, and camaraderie. With the help of the Black and Indian Mission Grant the scholarship recipients of our 2020 graduating class are ready to take this spirit with them to the next step on their journey!
St. Anthony de Padua School: With the Black and Indian Mission Grant funds that we received in July, we were able to help four students to afford tuition at our school for the coming year. Two different parents were torn about whether they were going to be able to continue to send their children to a Catholic school, due to having their work hours drastically cut due to COVID-19. Another parent is new to this country from Nigeria and recently graduated from Notre Dame with his Master’s degree. He and his wife are currently unemployed, but are seeking work, and wanted their son to have a Catholic education. Black and Indian Mission Grants play an important role in allowing parents to educate their children in the faith!
Our Lady of Hungary School: During these most unprecedented times our families of minority students that have been without work were finding it difficult to pay their tuition. With the help of the Black and Indian Mission Grant they found comfort and relief in knowing that their child(ren) will continue to attend Our Lady of Hungary School and receive a quality Catholic education.
Holy Family School: We completed the school year virtually via our eLearning platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While this time has brought forth great challenges, our students and staff rose to the occasion and worked diligently to remain dedicated to our academic program. The vast majority of our students all completed assignments remotely. We would like to reiterate our sincere appreciation for the grant awarded by the Black and Indian Mission Board, which allows us to support students with tuition assistance in order for them to receive high quality Catholic education.
