St. Francis Mission
The month of June we traveled to the communities of St. Francis, Rosebud, Spring Creek, and Parmelee! July 8-12, 2024 was our last week of Body, mind & soul camps for 2024 in the community of Mission. We taught VBS curriculum in the morning and incorporated our Lakota language, teachings, culture and arts & crafts in the afternoons. We provided breakfast, lunch and snacks. We want to send a BIG Thank you out to our young helpers this summer, Lilly, Whisper, Kimmy Latecia, and Roni! They are also in the SFM Youth Group. We also thank our staff Theresa and Robin! Also to Fr. Edmund Yainao for stopping by to each camp! We hope all the children who attended had a good time at camp! The first two weeks this year. we had help from two schools, Tampa Jesuit high school, Tampa, FL and Loyola high school, Chicago, IL. We are grateful and thankful they are willing to travel here to help us every summer. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work! This is my 10th year planning and implementing the camps! We hope to continue offering the BMS camps. Thank you BIMO for your support, without your support we would not be able to provide these summer camps in our communities.
