In November of 2023, after 5 years, the long-awaited Memorial Garden at Mission San Gabriel Archangel was finally completed and dedicated.

Some highlights of our activities, which funding from the Black and Indian Mission of the Black and Indian Mission Office has helped to make possible, are listed below.

Black Catholic Mission | 

At Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, we decided to do an Earth Day Parade to advertise protecting the Earth for future generations. To get ready for the parade, the students did Earth Day activities.

Indian Mission | 

St. Charles Apache Mission School offers a high-quality Catholic education rooted in Apache identity for children living on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Students explore their faith through weekly Masses, prayer services, and sacramental preparation.

Black Catholic Mission | 

HNOJ was blessed to have four RCIA catechumens this year we attended the Rite of Election at the Our Lady of Angeles Cathedral. They participated in classes from the four-neighboring parishes (Holy Name of Jesus, St Bernadette, St Brigid and Transfiguration).

Indian Mission | 

St. Anthony Indian Mission is 100 years old and we simply had to celebrate. The celebration began with the bishop, clergy and servers processing into the gym where a group of our students welcomed them with Zuni cultural dancing.

Black Catholic Mission | 

As part of our Catholic Schools Week program, students were strongly encouraged to come to school in their best Sunday outfit for the “Wear your Best for the Lord” day.

Black Catholic Mission | 

The diocese of Charleston held their Eucharistic Congress on Saturday, April 6th at the Columbia Convention Center in Columbia, SC. The Friday night before the event several parishes open their doors for a "About Town" pre - Eucharistic Celebration.

Indian Mission | 

Each morning, students at St. Teresa's School kick off their day with Mass alongside parishioners.
