The year 2020 has brought so many changes for everyone in so many facets of our lives. It has been no different for our Kateri meetings.

Venango Catholic Junior High Student Council organized a canned food drive to assist with the St. Elizabeth Center food pantry in Oil City.

Kindergarteners at St. Stephen Elementary met Winnie, a certified therapy dog who works with the local Paws 4 a Cause therapy dog group.

For the past 11 months, the Diocese of Richmond has been celebrating its Bicentennial. As we have been celebrating and looking back at our Diocesan history, the Office for Black Catholics has taken this opportunity to look back on some Virginia history.

Throughout the pandemic, Catholic Native Ministry’s primary goal has been communication. This close-knit community began a group texting chat in March, where they shared prayer intentions and news of family or friends from the villages who were sick or deceased.

Each year on September 30, Orange Shirt Day offers a chance to acknowledge Indian boarding school survivors as we remember the trauma that these schools infl
