St. Michael Indian High School
On April 17, 2024, the Honorable Delegate Brenda Jesus (Dist. 18) recognized the Lady Cardinals Basketball team during the proceedings of the 25th Navajo Nation Council. The team was commended for their outstanding achievement in reaching the 1A Girls Basketball State Tournament Final Four in February 2024. The players and coaches were honored with certificates and received encouragement from Delegate Jesus, who also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the parents and families for their pivotal role in providing an educational foundation and resources to support student-athletes. While Cardinals athletics has traditionally encompassed middle and high school, elementary sports for grades 3rd through 5th have been added over the last year. All coaches are mainly school teachers and staff, with some parents and community members also contributing.
