Saint Lawrence Catholic School
On October 17th, St. Lawrence Catholic School celebrated Hispanic Heritage month with student performances, religious studies, and a sumptuous meal celebrated outside, together as a school community. This annual event was a huge success with students, teachers, faculty, and parents all present to join together in celebration. From grades PreK-2 to 8th, St. Lawrence Catholic School represented all countries in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, many students dressed in Hispanic attire to represent their class’s assigned country. Saint Lawrence Catholic School is very diverse, representing an array of different cultures, and this celebration included all students regardless of their background. Outfits ranged from traditional clothing to a more modern take on Latin culture. As part of the celebrations, students learned about their class’s country, the religious influence of important historical figures, and finally learned a traditional song and dance from their country.
The students were so excited and proud to share their talent and enthusiasm with all of the faculty, staff, and parents who participated in our celebration. It was a unique opportunity where all members of the school community could come together to celebrate one another and our amazing cultural diversity.
