The COVID 19 Pandemic has come to Oregon and the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
The Standing Rock Reservation ministry team is still reeling from the effects that Covid-19 has had on its small, Lakota parishes. "People in general are leery of participating due to contagion at all levels of daily here," said Fr. Jim Hoerter.

On Saturday, July 11th, Deacon Charles Williams led 16 individuals on a Young Adult Slave Trail Walk in Richmond, Virginia. Deacon Charles, the Director of the Office for Black Catholics, partnered with the Office of Social Ministries to give young adults this experiential learning opportunity.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s executive order to close schools on March 18, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic thrust St. Michael’s School faculty and students into distance learning. St. Michael’s School took an aggressive approach, not wanting students to lose precious learning opportunity.
The Black & Indian Grant has helped the Church of St. Anthony in Mandaree to provided many different opportunities for our students. One opportunity that we provided was St. Anthony CLC (Christian Life Camp) which took place this year from July 8 – 12; July15 -22.
