Coding at SLS

SLS Youth Coding

St. Lawrence School has been participating in the Hour of Code for the past three years in the middle school level. This year, we expanded it to include all grade levels from Kindergarten to Eighth grade. The members of the St. Lawrence Robotics Club were responsible for helping and teaching students in the lower grades to be introduced to the power of coding. Using Kodable, the Kindergarten students were able to follow simple visual cues such as arrows and colors to program their avatar through a maze. It was rewarding to see our older students teach our Kindergarten students how to code. We are very proud of our students’ ability to participate and succeed in these types of activities. We believe in offering students challenging learning opportunities where they can use their God given talents and showcase their understanding.
