One of the pastoral goals at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Parish is to reach out to members of the church who don’t attend Sunday Mass regularly but they do come to events such as Lenten Mission. This year, we were able to invite Reverend Tony Anala, SVD, pastor of Saint Paul Catholic Church from the Diocese of Lafayette and Reverend Ken Braxton, to lead our congregation in three-day Lenten Mission/Revival. Part of our ministerial efforts is also to assist our parishioners in learning more about the Catholic Faith through preaching and liturgical music activities that are integrated throughout the liturgical calendar, such as Lenten preparation for Easter and the Easter Season.
Part of the Black and Indian Grant that we received was used pay for the stipends and costs of organizing such pastoral activities, i.e., Lenten Mission/Revival. Thanks to the benefactors of the Black and Indian Grant, we were able to get Fr. Tony Anala for the preaching and Reverend Ken Braxton for the liturgical Music to lead our parish in the Lenten Revival/Mission.
We truly appreciate the benefactors of the Black and Indian Grants for affording our parishioners an opportunity to to attend, listen, learn, and prepare for the Easter celebrations.
