St. Peter the Apostle

St. Peter the Apostle demonstrated Spiritual Works in Action by learning more about our faith, teaching our youth discipline, public speaking, embracing others and communicating our catholic beliefs.

As we continue the work of evangelization and forming intentional disciples for the kingdom, the parish hosted its annual Revival that average 140 attendees per night on December 10-12, 2019. The Revivalist was Reverend Ayo Emmanuel Efodigbue, MSP, Pastor, Our Mother of Mercy, Ames, Texas and Sacred Heart in Raywood, Texas. His theme centered around "God's Unconditional Love."At the end of the week, thirty-eight students from the Religious Education classes and other youth groups within the parish community participated in a Christmas Play titled, “The Langston Hughes Story." The play highlighted the children and youth ability to speak, pray, dance and sing.

In February, the parish hosted a Gospel Concert where over 155 parishioners and guest attended. Six choirs/groups, three soloists and three praise teams provided inspirational music through praise, song and dance. The guests were treated to a Wax Museum that mirrored our parish ambassadors, who made a commitment to religious vocations and were spiritual role models for this generation. Of the six in vocations, two nuns (sisters), one priest, and one brother are still making a difference in their various ministries. A delegation from Catholic Extension Services were on hand for the concert. The event was published in the Catholic Extension Spring Magazine, April 2019. The Master of Ceremony for the events was Mr. Clarence Dubose.
