Our Lady of Guadalupe (Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe) Mission
Bishop Robert Marshall celebrated the annual Mass for indigenous peoples at Our Lady of Guadalupe (Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe) Mission in Forest Hill. The Mass traditionally invokes the intercession of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, but this year was celebrated on the Memorial of St. Martin de Porres, a Dominican of mixed race including native Peruvian. Both saints were invoked. The parishioners of OLG joined with the Native North Americans to celebrate the indigenous peoples of both American continents. Thank you to those who organized the celebration, Father Marc Noel, the Aztec Dancers who entertained after Mass, and all who prepared the delicious food.
