Each year, the Office of Native Ministry and the Sioux Spiritual Center host two Canku Wakan Retreats, which are four-day inculturated retreat experiences for Lakota Catholics in the diocese and other indigenous peoples nationwide.

This school year the school began a preschool program for two-year-old students. Seven students were part of the new program and all seven of them completed the year.

In July, 2018, St. Patrick Parish, along with other neighborhood churches, businesses, schools and residents initiated the Oak Hill Neighborhood Association. The association hosts a Fall Harvest Fest in the fall for the neighborhood.

One of the best days of the school year for our Monroe students is RAMS Day. The day before Thanksgiving is spent on Random Acts of Mercy and Service both in the school and throughout the community.
Each year our students perform in two concerts: one at Christmas, and another in the spring. Our recent performance utilized the talent of every Saint Rita student.
