St. Ignatius Loyola Academy Spring Update 2026

May 27, 2026

St. Ignatius Loyola Academy

St. Ignatius Loyola Academy is a tuition-free Jesuit middle school serving boys in grades five through eight from underserved neighborhoods in the Baltimore, Maryland area. We have an enrollment of 113 students for the 2025–26 school year, which concludes on May 21, 2026, with our 8th grade graduation ceremony. With the graduation of the Class of 2026, the Academy will have more than 650 alumni.

Spring was an exciting and enriching season at the Academy. In addition to their academic studies, students participated in team sports including lacrosse, baseball, and track; explored new experiences through field trips to destinations such as the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Mosaic Theater in Washington, DC, and the Maryland State House in Annapolis; designed and presented thoughtful projects for the science fair; attended weekly Chapel services; developed leadership and teamwork skills through Outward Bound programming; and engaged in meaningful service-learning opportunities throughout the community.

While many students are preparing for a long summer break, Academy students will return in June to participate in the school’s Summer Term. Upperclassmen will travel to Maryland’s Eastern Shore to attend Camp Crimson Knight, our two-week overnight camp, while rising 6th graders will participate in a one-week day camp held at the Academy.

The St. Ignatius Loyola Academy Summer Term is an essential part of our educational model, designed to prevent summer learning loss while providing students with engaging outdoor and hands-on learning experiences. Students attend camp in June and return to the Academy in July for four weeks of academic instruction. This summer, nearly 30 students will also have the opportunity to participate in additional educational excursions through partner programs, including Teton Science Schools, Overland Summers, and WILD Utah.
