St. Peter Claver Church hosted its third annual Heritage Festival on the parish patron's feast day, Sunday, September 9th, 2018, immediately following Mass with Bishop John Stowe. The parish was founded in the late 19th century as an outreach to African-American Catholics in Lexington and continues as a community of rich diversity. Parishioners prepared displays and shared food that reflected their family's history and heritage, including the newest members from the Congolese community.
