We are very grateful for the Black and Indian Mission Grant which enabled us to bring Sister Kateri Mitchell to Lakewood, Co. for our Lenten Retreat. The participants in the Retreat were very comfortable and pleased.
The grant funds were used for two major purposes. First, to purchase the educational items needed, such as workbooks, reading materials, prayer cards, and other items that the Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Deacon used when they were making home visits.
In the tradition of Saint John Baptist De La Salle, who opened schools for poor boys in seventeenth-century France, De La Salle Blackfeet School (DLSBS) fulfills the Lasallian mission to provide a “quality, innovative, faith-based education”.
