St. Nicholas School
It has been a yearly tradition at St. Nicholas School in Struthers, Ohio for the fifth graders to pay homage to the Saints for the Feast of All Saints. Each student selects a saint of their choice and researches their life. It is always interesting to see who each student selects and then hear them explain what went into their selection along with a detailed report of their history. The students learn of the saints family background and life they lived and deeds they did that lead them to sainthood. It is an excellent lesson that teaches them to dedicate their thoughts and actions towards helping others and pleasing God. Alivia portrays Saint Olivia of Palermo, Anna portrays Saint Rose of Lima, Casey portrays Saint Gerard, Mykhael portrays Saint Michael. All of the students are in the class pictures. The students processed into church as the "Saints Go Marching In" by the director of music, Matt White.
