Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School Graduation Celebration

June 01, 2020

Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School

On March 16, 2020, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School (DBCR) and Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) went entirely online. All school sponsored or organized events - from admissions events, college tours, class retreats, sports games, and alumni events - were suspended. Additionally, our Corporate Work Study Program changed dramatically with some students, about 10% telecommuting, and the remainder undergoing professional development.

In order to ensure all students had access to online learning resources, DBCR gave each student their own laptop and worked to provide Wireless Fidelity to students who needed it. Our academic department purchased online learning platforms in order for teachers to manage their individual classes and upload essential documents for students.

Despite struggles, the end of our academic year has continued. Once again, 100% of our seniors were accepted into a two or four year university. In early May, those seniors decided on which of those colleges they would attend in the fall. Just last week, our school hosted an online graduation ceremony for our seniors as well. Although these are challenging times, our school continues to educate and form the leaders of the future.
