St. Patrick School, Franklin, PA
ENGAGEMENT has been high this past spring among St. Patrick’s, Franklin, PA students! MIND, BODY, SPIRIT -- all are part of the latest three activities involving St. Pat’s students: Firstly, the annual religious education contest run by the St Patrick’s Catholic Daughters Court; secondly, St. Pat’s basketball team placed in their division!; lastly, the annual MISSION FAIR!
1 THES 5:23 " Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." AMEN!
Each year the parish's Catholic Daughters organization has an education contest for school and religious education students in Gr. 4-8. Students can enter poems, computer art, or drawings based on contest themes. Pictured are this year's St. Patrick School winners.
The St. Patrick boys' JV basketball team and their coach are shown here at the end-of-season athletic banquet. The boys enjoyed a successful season and placed second out of ten teams in the Annual SPS JV Boys' Tournament.
Annual Mission Fair is A BIG HIT! St. Patrick School has a Mission Club for students in Gr. 3-8. Each year the students have a Mission Fair in the spring to raise money for various missions locally and throughout the world.
The Fair features children's games (one created by each grade level), a store (like an indoor yard sale), and treats to eat. Students pay 5 cents to 25 cents per game and win tickets which are redeemable for prizes!
This year’s monies aided two global ministries: a Sister of Mercy Ministry – in Haiti to create clean water sources by reforesting hills, and digging wells. and the ministries of the Benedictine Sisters in Tanzania.
A local Catholic Charities Affiliate: Catholic Rural Ministries which provides aid for rent and utilities, prescription drug and health co-pays was also gifted. In the picture are three Mission Club members getting ideas for their posters for the Fair.
