Holy Name of Jesus
HNOJ was blessed to have four RCIA catechumens this year we attended the Rite of Election at the Our Lady of Angeles Cathedral. They participated in classes from the four-neighboring parishes (Holy Name of Jesus, St Bernadette, St Brigid and Transfiguration). Our four candidates will receive their Sacraments on March the 30th at the Easter Vigil.
HNOJ and St Bernadette Confirmation youth attended a weekend retreat in Big Bear California facilitated by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. Some of our youth have never experienced a night away from home. It was a great experience and on top of that God blessed us with snow. The sisters were fantastic we were spiritually blessed. We also attended the Youth Day for Religious Education Congress as a confirmation class. The four parishes will this year receive the Sacrament of confirmation at St Bernadette Catholic Church.
Father Ugwu turned one of our Sunday masses into an Anointing Service, the congregation was happy to feel the love of Jesus in our community. The Shining Faith choir which sings composed of young adult 18-40+ led the music ministry. We are proud to say that most of them once were members of our children/youth choir.
