St. Ambrose Church
On Sunday, October 1, 2023 St. Ambrose Parish celebrated the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Capuchin Province of St. Augustine. Friars from the province have ministered in the Archdiocese for 149 years and 60 yrs in Baltimore City. The friars have staffed St. Ambrose Parish since 1990.
Part of the celebration was the blessing of the six African American candidates for canonization.
The children of the parish assisted with the blessing which was bestowed by Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore. Six children represented the candidate and was dressed in costume.
A wonderful celebration and made even more special with Sr. Jean Martinez, SSF of New Orleans representing the Holy Family Sisters.
