Blessed Savior Catholic Church
The Blessed Savior Parish School has three campus locations, with over 550 African-American students. The Pastor, Father Romanus Nwaru, goes to a campus each week to offer a School Mass. The Masses allow for instruction and discussion of the Catholic Church, its values and the Sacraments. Four times during the school year, the students are brought together for a larger Mass. On these occasions, the students from each campus are bused to the location of the Mass. This bussing allows for a larger audience experience and instruction. At these Masses, the students have face-to-face experiences with the Pastor, Father Romanus. The students also participate in the Mass Procession, as well as readers and presenters of the Petitions. Following each Mass, Father Romanus has conversations with individual students before they return to their classrooms. This is an invaluable opportunity and Evangelization. These opportunities also highlight and enhance some of the instruction that occurs when Father Romanus visits the student classrooms. A Catholic School really can be a Tool For Christ, especially valuable when the students are not from the Parish, but come from the surrounding Parish Community area.
The Black and Indian Mission grants, through the Milwaukee Archdiocese, make the bussing and experience possible. We thank you for allowing that opportunity.
