African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization Network
Several members of the Diocese of Raleigh including representation from the youth and a young adult community attended the 2022 Archbishop James P. Lyke Conference in Grapevine, Texas, June 14- 18, 2022. The conference included an opportunity for the youth and young adults to network with Black Catholics from around the country. The theme for the conference was: Listen to the Lambs: Black Confirmation – Rejoicing in the Gifts of the Young. The workshops covered a variety of topics including, Rise Up & Conquer! - Youth Empowerment, Best Practices in Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and numerous musical activities. Our representatives also were participants in each of the prayer and Mass services. This was the first time several of the youth attended this conference and they look forward to being part of future conferences.
