St. Francis Mission
We had our Confirmation retreat on February 21-22, 2026. We started early Saturday and ended on Sunday. We had four youth candidates participate.
We started with an opening prayer. The topics discussed included "Why Am I Here?," "The Depth of God’s Love and Reconciliation," "Healing and Repentance" a talk given by Fr. Edmund and "Lakota Catholic and Proud" a talk given by Jenny Black Bear. The candidates worked on their faith journey map. They painted Guardian angel jars that they exchanged and will bring back at their confirmation for their classmate. The goal is for them to fill the jars with encouraging words, bible verses or positive messages for the person whose jar they have.
We had a lot of discussion and prayer! We had delicious food and snacks. We completed two of our Confirmation lessons, we all prayed the rosary together and attended Mass at St. Charles Borromeo! It was a good weekend of learning and fellowship.
