What a blessing this ministry has been for the multi-tribal Native and non-Native members who live and worship with us. This community has filled my needs for the traditions, culture, and beliefs of my tribal roots.
There are few places in the United States where congregations face the level of poverty and hardship that is on the Lower Brule Native American Reservation in South Dakota.
The topics included "Why Am I Here?," "The Depth of God’s Love and Reconciliation," "Healing and Repentance" a talk given by Fr. Edmund, and "Lakota Catholic and Proud" a talk given by Jenny Black Bear.
The Social Concerns Ministry of our parish has created an emergency food pantry. It is located adjacent to Father Jerry's office, and it is open seven days a week.
