With the start of the 2019-2020 school year, St. Mary’s Cathedral School promised to be very exciting for our Middle School student body as the students were issued iPads on a 1 to 1 basis for the first time.
The school year is off to a great start! The students work hard on their academics and deserve an afternoon break.
This past September the students of St. Peter Claver Catholic school (SPCCS) celebrated grandparents from our community and families.
For almost 30 years, Monsignor Edward Pace High school (Pace) has been setting the standard in Catholic education through their campus ministry engagement.
The first few weeks of school the students held a food drive. The local food pantry at the Mary Mother of Mankind Parish in Saint Michaels, informed the school they were in dire need of assistance to stock the shelves.
On Oct. 3, at the Catholic Business Network DC (CBN-DC) Sixth Annual Gala, Rev. Patrick A. Smith, pastor of St. Augustine Catholic Church, won the Clergy of the Year Award.
Two local volunteer fire companies visited Immaculate Conception Parish School to teach the students about what to do if there is a fire in their homes.
Our RCIA program this past year had nearly 20 people participate each week. The group met weekly starting in Sept. through the Easter Vigil and attended a retreat in March 2019.
The wonderful youth from Gesu, St. Martin de Porres, St. Benedict the Moor, and St. Frances parishes participated in our collaborative Confirmation program this past year.
