African American Ministry (under Multicultural Ministry)

The Black and Indian Mission Office grant funds enlivened the African American community in the Diocese of Beaumont tremendously as our African American Ministry (under Multicultural Ministry) and parishes shined the light of Christ in a multitude of ways. As part of our new ‘Back to the Table’ initiative, our Diocese is focusing on bringing families back to the dinner table to share in faith, fellowship, and fun. The Office of Multicultural Ministry is placing a heavy emphasis on this initiative, working to bring the African American community not only back to the table, but back to Church pews and to active engagement in parish and diocesan activities.

Black and Indian Mission Office grant funds were used to increase the Catholic Church throughout the African American community in the Diocese of Beaumont by supporting, establishing, and enlivening spiritual activities, events, and programs—all designed to encourage and strengthen African American Catholics in their faith. This support for the African American community is essential in ensuring the survival of His Catholic Church on earth—a direct answer to our call as Catholics to evangelize and disseminate the Gospel Message. These grant funds allow our parishes and Multicultural Ministry to perform more appealing and exciting outreach to the African American community—encouraging them to remain engaged in their Catholic Faith and increase their appetite for a Christ filled life.
