St. Alphonsus Catholic School
St. Alphonsus Catholic School is a 60-year-old tradition based on the heart and calling of the Redemptorists to bring God's love to all people, in particular the poor and abandoned. Our school and parish serve a diverse community. In addition, we are a Katharine Drexel School that provides students of all religious and ethnical backgrounds with a strong education that will set the foundation of their lives. We believe that strong faith leads to strong families.
The community around us is ever changing as families who bought their starter home many years ago are retiring, so the population is aging. With that comes a lot of change, as a first ring suburb, we are becoming more urban in our demographics and landscape. We serve more and more families of lower economic status. Our families are widely diverse in culture as well. Besides the African American and Native American families, we have students from Africa, Vietnam, Mexico, South America, and other places around the world.
